I am the Owner / Supervising Attorney of Bottimore & Associates, PLLC – the Law Firm Where the Family is Our Focus. We are a growing Boutique Family and Elder Law Firm. We have a Team Approach to working with our Clients to provide value to them as their partners in resolving family disputes (or in preventing them). Open Positions:

Family Law Associate Attorney

Responsibilities include:

  • Communicating with Clients and others in Meetings, through Emails and Letters, by Telephone, and by Zoom
  • Preparing for Hearings, Settlement Conferences, Mediations, Trial, and other proceedings
  • Drafting, reviewing, revising Motions, Declarations, Court Orders, and other pleadings
  • Drafting Estate Plans
  • Preparing Discovery
  • Conducting legal research and gathering client documentation
  • Preparing Legal Briefs – Memoranda
  • Working with Law Firm Owner / Supervising Attorney and Staff to manage cases and strategize to achieve clients’ goals and court and other deadlines

Skills and Experience:

  • Superior client service and interpersonal skills
  • Proven organizational skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Adept at using various Systems and Software programs such as Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)- Podium, Slack, Clio Grow, Clio Manage, DropBox, mypleadings, WealthCounsel, etc.
  • Minimum 3+ years’ experience as an attorney, preferably in the area of Family or Elder Law.
  • The successful Candidate must have experience preparing a case from beginning to end – client intake through closing files.

Family Law Paralegal

  • Scanning, copying, and filing
  • Maintaining Client Files – paper and electronic files

Skills and Experience:

  • Superior client service and interpersonal skills
  • Proven organizational skills

  • Adept at using various Systems and Software programs such as Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel), Podium, Slack, Clio Grow, Clio Manage, DropBox, mypleadings, WealthCounsel, etc.

Administrative Assistant

Overview:
An Administrative Assistant’s primary goals are to support our Firm by providing outstanding support to the administrative staff. This is a Non-Exempt position.
Relationship:
The Administrative Assistant works under the direction of the Firm Administrator and the Owner.
Authority:
Non-attorney support staff are prohibited by the ABA’s Rules of Professional Conduct and State Bar Association Rules from practicing law. All client work done by Assistants must be in support of and under the direct supervision of an attorney. In dealing with clients, Assistants must be careful not to inadvertently slip into the unlawful practice of law. This would include answering client questions about what will happen in their case or recommending that a client undertake a certain course of action during their case.

Responsibilities:

Administrative Duties

1. Answer Incoming Calls
a. Direct incoming calls as appropriate
b. Screen calls when appropriate
2. Greeting Clients, guests, attorneys, and employees a. Create a positive and professional first impression on behalf of the firm b. Make visitors comfortable, offering beverages
3. Assist the Owner and other administrative team members with projects
4. Receive mail, deliveries, and packages and direct to the proper person
5. Make copies/scans documents
6. File documents in appropriate client files & sub-files
7. Organize documents in files and sub-files and maintain them in an orderly fashion
8. Schedule client calls and meetings assuring attorneys’ calendars are accurately maintained and organized in a logical and efficient manner
9. Interact with the courts and administrative agencies regarding hearings, motions and other appearances
10. Prepare and send bills to clients
11. Set up and manage new client and firm files
12. Other calendaring duties

Matrix of Tasks

  • Daily
    • Open, sort, scan, save/route mail
    • Answer telephones; screen attorney calls; take messages
    • Schedule appointments
    • Review daily appointments and reminders
    • Create contacts and update contact information in the case management or contact management system
    • Follow-up with providers to facilitate receipt of records
  • Weekly
    • Review additional projects to be accomplished and calendared
    • Case and administrative filing
    • Close matter files
  • Monthly
    • Meet with legal team to ensure calendars, task lists, and case management systems remain current

Education & Experience

An Administrative Assistant should have a high school diploma, and advanced training at a college or university is preferred.

Prior experience in a law firm is preferred but not required.
